Backing the Bush: Why We Love the Ivanhoe Pig Comp

At Just Shear, we’re all about supporting grassroots events that bring rural communities together — and few do it better than the Ivanhoe Pig Comp.

This one’s especially close to our hearts. I grew up just outside of Ivanhoe, and if you’ve ever been to the comp, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Bugsy or Dave. He’s the bloke you’ll spot checking his socials from the seat of a Bobcat — and he also happens to be my Dad. (in an OG Just Shear Hoody from about 4 years ago) 

Every year, we help the Pig Comp by printing and shipping their comp jumpers straight to customers. It saves the team time, postage hassles, and a whole lot of back-and-forth. It’s just our way of pitching in and keeping things simple.

This year, we were stoked to receive a few of the official jumpers and even a trophy from Josh and the team as a thank you. Such a thoughtful gesture — and yes, it’s already got pride of place in the office.

Community is a big part of who we are. Whether it's a country show, a local comp, or a working bee in the bush, we’re proud to back the people and places that raised us.
